Nyami to the waters!

Sunday, 22 May 2011

It takes 9 months of patience and the love of 2 individuals to get a baby out of the water. It took an entire team some 3 years to get ours in the water… She is called "Nyami".

The week-end of May 14-15th proved to be a key milestone in our concept of electrical passenger boats. The Nyami 54 was finally completed, vetted by Bureau Veritas and carefully driven out of the production plant.

With an unmatched precision the maiden boat was gently put to water on Saturday 14th… An unlashed joy and applause from the entire team be it engineers, craftsmen, prospects, etc. The next day proved to be the ultimate confirmation of the unique technology of electrical propulsion based on the LiFerPhosphate batteries. Without any hesitation or hick-up the two 75 kw engines pushed the 14 meter long beauty seemingly to 10 knots at only ¾ of its capacity…

And here again, Bureau Veritas put a stamp, completing the approval from structural as well as propulsion perspective. The images of this maiden trip went all around our prospect base which now stretches across the 4 continents.

All of them will receive a formal invitation to come over and test the boat which will arrive in Le Havre on June 21st where she will be hosted by the first customer in Brest (Azenor). We hope to welcome you aboard soon. We do invite you to join our vision, let's cruise the current together.
